On the Feast of Pentecost, the birthday of the Church was made
manifest by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The gift of the Spirit
brings forth a new time in the early Church and the work of salvation
continues until Christ comes again. “In this age of the Church Christ
now lives and acts in, and with his Church in a new way appropriate to
this new age.”
How similar our own personal renewal and the renewal of our Church
Universal and in particular our Diocese continues to respond to the
mystery of God’s presence among us.
As we celebrate Pentecost, may our personal faith journey be
prompted by the Holy Spirit among us as well as the transformation of
our Families of Parishes in the Diocese more fully into the image of
Christ.
May the Spirit of Jesus which descended upon Mary and the apostles
in the upper room, come upon us bringing that same unity, zeal and
service. Through our mission of service and charity, come Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of your faithful!
