The Blessed Sacrament Athletic Club (B.S.A.C.) was founded in 1958 by Father Cotter of the Blessed Sacrament Parish. The purpose of the club was to promote youth athletics in the Town of Tonawanda. Although the athletic club originally consisted of only two baseball teams, it has grown over the years. Today B.S.A.C. is independent from the parish and it sponsors over 50 teams in four sports (Baseball, Softball, Basketball and Soccer. Participants range in age from 6 to 18 years old and come from all different backgrounds. In a given year, the club provides low cost, organized, instructional play to over 500 of this areas youth.
All members of the Blessed Sacrament Athletic Club are volunteers, many of whom became involved when their children participated on club sponsored teams. Of those, several are still involved long after their children have moved on. Many others have participated on B.S.A.C. teams themselves and now have chosen to give back by helping out.
If you have a child interested in participating on a B.S.A.C. sponsored team, or if you are an adult interested in getting involved, please call Mark Zirnheld at (716) 871-0595 for more information.
Experience is not necessary; enthusiasm, dedication and patience is.
