Want to Become Catholic

Want to become Catholic?  We would love to have you join us in Christ’s Catholic Church.

A Catholic life of discipleship is an ongoing daily decision to follow Christ more deeply every day.  Thus, to prepare for such a serious commitment to follow Jesus Christ with your whole life, the Church has designated a time for formation and preparation leading up to Baptism, Confirmation, and reception of Jesus in the Eucharist.  Typically this formation process begins in September and ends at the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday.  The formal process of becoming Catholic is called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, or RCIA for short.

The Rite of Christian Initiation or RCIA is a learning and loving process in which a conversion of the heart brings you closer to Jesus Christ whom God has sent for the salvation of all.

The rite of initiation is suited to a spiritual journey of adults and consists of four continuous periods.

WHAT IS THE RCIA?

The: R.C.I.A. stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It is a process that the Church established to help lead other people closer to Christ.

If you are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, receiving the Sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation, or simply seeking a loving parish community, the RCIA process is for you.

Sessions take place in the Msgr. Fitzgerald Room in the Parish Center.

Please note: Any adult over the age of 18 who wants to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation will be part of this RCIA Process.

Do You Know Someone? We all probably know someone who is not Catholic. Perhaps they have questions about our faith or might be considering becoming Catholic. Also, there may be an adult over the age of 18 who has not received the Sacrament of Confirmation or Eucharist. This is the time for YOU to share something about your faith and what the Lord has done for you. INVITE them to consider the RCIA Process (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). Perhaps a little nudge from you is all that is needed! Its worth a try and the Lord will give you words to share.  Now is the time… what will be your response?

For more information see Sister Lucette, call her (716-834-4282), or stop by the Parish Office to between 8am and 3pm.

We also cater to the RCIA for Children.  This process is for children of catechetical age (7 and up) who may not have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist or Confirmation.
