In the Sacrament of Confirmation, we celebrate the completion and the perfection of the graces received in Baptism, and continue to strengthen the foundation of the Christian life begun in Baptism. Confirmation confers the special strength and gifts of the Holy Spirit initially received at Baptism that allows us to bear witness to Jesus Christ, and it brings a deepening of our Catholic identity. “Preparation for Confirmation is aimed at leading toward a more intimate union with Christ and a lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit” (CCC#1309) Preparation classes for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation will be given during required attendance. There is also a scheduled retreat at which attendance is required by both sponsor and candidate prior to reception of the Sacrament.
Preparation for Confirmation will be held as a breakout session for the confirmation candidates.
For the sacrament of confirmation a sponsor/candidate retreat is required.
