Ponderings & Pontifications of the Pastor

Hello friends!

Introducing, although not for the very first time, a saint from the early Church who is a wonderful saint for the current times…St. Mary of Egypt!

Who is Saint Mary of Egypt?  I’m glad you asked.  I will discuss St. Mary during the weekend homily but also because she has a powerful connection to the coming liturgical feast… the Exultation of the Holy Cross – Tuesday, September 14th.

Also, as God’s providence would have it, the feast day of St. Mary of Egypt happened to fall on one of the holiest and most solemn days of the year…Good Friday, in the midst of the Paschal Triduum.  The date was April 2nd, 2021

What’s the big deal, you ask?  Hopefully I’ll explain well as we move forward.

Until next week, friends…

St. Mary of Egypt…pray for us!

Our Lady of Perpetual Help…pray for us!

May the heart of Jesus, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored, and loved, with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time.  Amen.
