Today we celebrate the feast of the Baptism of our Lord and the culmination of the Christmas season. Rising from the Jordan River, Jesus heard: “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased”. God utters these same words over each person baptized since that day. We are all challenged to come to a deeper understanding of the meaning of our own Baptism and how to accept the grace and responsibility of this tremendous sacrament. Our baptized selves have the divine within. May God be pleased with us.
As we begin 2021, remember that we will celebrate the Installation of our 15th Bishop of the Diocese of Buffalo, Bishop Michael William Fisher on Friday, January 15th at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Cathedral. Let us hold him in our prayers.
Likewise, let us continue to pray for a new Pastor who will also shepherd us in the days and years ahead.
