News, Pastor's Note

Pastor’s Note 10/18/20

We have entered into the parish pastoral leadership transition. As a result of reviewing quick surveys of parishioners and consulting with the Parish Council, starting on Sunday, October 24-25, there are only three Sunday Masses:  Saturday 4:00 pm  Vigil, in the chapel with an overflow in the church; recorded Mass. Sunday  9:00 am and   11:00 am. All Masses are inside of the church.  The 7:30 am Mass has been suspended indefinitely due to very low participation (about 15 people) and recent lack of sufficient priests’ availability.
We are grateful to Msgr. Leo McCarthy who will continue to live in the rectory next to the church, to celebrate all the daily morning Masses and the 9:00 am Mass on Sundays.
We welcome Msgr. Thomas Crane who has graciously agreed to celebrate the 3:00-3:30 pm Confessions on Saturdays, followed by the 4:00 pm Mass, and the 11:00 am Masses on Sundays through November 2020.
I plan on celebrating the 6:00 pm Masses on Wednesdays in the Divine Mercy Chapel for the next several weeks.  The church will only be opened for Masses and Eucharistic Adoration: 3 pm – 4 pm each weekday and 9 am – 9 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and
7am – 12:30pm on Sundays.
We are also very grateful to our parishioner Sal Sciria, who yet again offered our parish to help seal the most damaged sections of our main parking lot.  He donated the equipment and material, while our faithful parish volunteers, Bob O’Keefe, Paul Brady, and Keith Kolodziejczyk helped to apply the sealer by hand.  Thanks to all of them, the parking is in good shape and ready for winter.
