Pastor’s Note 8/9/20

Last Thursday, our parish participated in a remotely live-streamed Divine Mercy evening of prayer with Eucharistic Adoration at our church.  About a dozen of people prayerfully attended in person, the majority of them visiting from other parishes.  Many more participated from their homes.

We continue to plan for hosting a Perpetual Adoration with Eucharistic Exposition at our parish.  As part of Adoration, we will also say aloud prayers for the nation.  I invite all to consider signing up for one hour at any time, day or night, and let us know about the chosen time by email or phone.
In this very challenging time,  some Catholics may want to respond to Our Lady’s request for fasting in addition to praying the Rosary.  To that end, I invite and encourage all participants to volunteer a few hours of fasting on the day of their adoration.  Fasting can be a very powerful prayer and spiritual weapon against the Deceiver of the World.  More details will be forthcoming. We will start first with a full daytime adoration on Wednesdays, from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm, starting this Wednesday, August 12th.

Msgr. Leo McCarthy had a medical emergency last week; he is back from the hospital as of last Tuesday and is recovering very nicely.  He is grateful for the prayers and he assures his prayers for all, as well.
