Pastor’s Note 7/12/20

Our Parish Deacon Ed Zablocki, and subsequently the
Bishop, notified me he retired in good standing from his active ministry in the Diocese due to health reasons.  We are very grateful to Deacon Ed for his faithful and joyful ministry for the past eight years, and especially for the years he served at our parish, and for his ministry of charity at the diocesan Pro-Life Department. We wish him the best, especially health-wise, and keep him and his wonderful wife Mary in our prayers.  I am sure we will see them around at Sunday Masses and many of the future social events.
The School of Two Hearts, an independent K-12 school in the Roman Catholic tradition, is planning to open this fall at our campus.  They will hold an open-air meat raffle fundraiser in the main parking lot of our parish this Friday, July 17th.  It will be a safe event, with all the state and local Covid re-opening guidelines followed.
More details are on page 5.
As long as there are restrictions to the size of the congregation inside of the church, we continue to celebrate Sunday outdoor Masses. The lawn Mass will be at 9:00 am
and drive-in at 11:00 am this Sunday, July 12th.  In case of an inclement weather we will move inside of the church for the 9:00 am Mass.
Blessed Sacrament Parish collected $22,835 or only 67% of our goal for the 2020 Catholic Charities Appeal.
We thank all the donors.  Many needy people rely on this help now. May God reward you for your generosity.

Fr. Matt
