The Walk for Life is NOT cancelled. We will #WalkOn for vulnerable women and their preborn boys and girls! However, the in-person Delaware Park event is pivoting to a live webcast event on Saturday, May 2 beginning at 9:30 A.M. This means the largest pro-life event in New York just got even bigger. Because the Walk will be held virtually, CompassCare is planning for 7,000 people to come together to express their convictions with their fellow pro-life Christians in Western New York.
Through the Walk for Life, we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, our Good Samaritan, helping a woman have her baby because abortion dehumanizes not just the baby and the mother but all of humanity. And God dignified all of humanity by sacrificing all His resources to buy our lives back from sin and death at the cross. Christians know human value, we see human need, and we take action to give them their lives back as Jesus did for us. For no other reason than Jesus says, ‘Go and do likewise.’ And why are people worth sacrificing for? Because man is made in the image of God and each deserves equal protection (Gen 1:27).
The Church tells the world through the Walk for Life that abortion is unjust toward the baby and unnecessary for any woman. Together, we continue to educate our community on the equal value of all people and help women considering abortion have their babies. The Walk invites others to join Jesus in what He is doing to erase the need for abortion, one woman at a time!
This year’s goal is to raise $357,000 in order to reach more women seriously considering abortion in Rochester and Buffalo than ever before and expand CompassCare’s services to other major abortion hubs in NY.
