Legion of Mary News

The Legion of Mary at Blessed Sacrament has completed its second year!
Over the past year we have grown and currently have 7 active members and 25 auxiliary members.
Our members have focused on bringing spiritual comfort during the past year to those who are homebound, at Brighton Square Senior Apartments and who are in nursing homes. We visited the elderly, distributed Holy Communion, recited the rosary and distributed prayer cards.
Our members have also been active in Evangelization.  During Lent, we participated in a book borrow at a Northern Vicariate lecture series.  In May, we hosted a Mother’s Day celebration and participated in the Town of Tonawanda Chamber of Commerce where we distributed books and recruited new members.
In the fall of 2019, we visited 470 homes within the parish boundaries for the Blessed Sacrament Church census.  We led the rosary on the 13th of each month from May to October at the Blessed Sacrament Lady of Fatima grotto.  We distributed rosaries, miraculous medals, crucifixes, scapulars, and pamphlets throughout the parish and the community.
Our members have made rosaries and packets which were sent locally and internationally to organizations.
Members also participated in the following Legion activities: the Respect Life Chain on Niagara Falls Boulevard, and the Coast to Coast Rosary. Cards were sent to  parishioners commemorating sacramental milestones, as well as cards to the sick, sympathy cards, birthday cards and welcoming cards to our new neighbors and parishioners. Christmas cards were sent to service members.
Our goal for our third year is to generate growth and to reach people in need within the parish boundaries as a result of completing the parish census.
These goals can only be possible with help from our parish by fasting, praying and volunteering in our evangelization mission. Please consider participating in our efforts to help our parish grow, both spiritually and (in numbers—registering and welcoming  new parishioners.
