Pastor’s Note 10/6/19

Legion of Mary is one of our parish newest prayer and evangelization society. They meet weekly on Wednesday evenings and recently responded to the Pastor’s invitation to lead the parish outreach and evangelization efforts by doing the home census visits. The first groups will start this weekend and continue through October, visiting all homes at a few blocks within the parish geographical boundaries. It is a pilot phase, which will lead to a much wider effort next spring. Please welcome them. For more information contact the President Darlene O’Keeffe.
The culture of death and disregard for the dignity and sanctity of human life is being promoted and pushed upon our society in many forms and ways. NYS very recently put on the books a very draconian law allowing for infanticide of a baby which survived an at-tempted abortion. This Sunday we have a chance to stand in opposition to this and other attempts to rub us from the God’s given right to life. We can prayer-fully witness and invite other to reflect on the meaning of human life, especially of the unborn yet children. Our parish will participate in the annual Life Chain on Niagara Falls Blvd at Longmeadow Rd. from 2-3 pm. The newly formed Respect Life Committee invites all to gather at Fr. Cotter Hall at 1:30 pm for a short prayer, pick up Pro-Life signs, and car pool to our designated location.
We will have a group outing to see the release of the newest movie about St. Faustina, “Love and Mercy” on Monday, October 28th at 7:00 pm. We will gather at Father Cotter Hall for an optional prayer of the Chaplet at 6:15 pm, followed by a car pool at 6:30 pm. Thickets are available at the parish office on first come basis.
