Pastor’s Note 3/24/19

Catholic Charities 2019 Appeal season has started. Parishioners should be receiving letters with an invitation to participate.  Thank you for all the past support and I encourage all to support this year’s appeal.  Our parish goal is again $34,000.

I thank all who so generously continue to support our parish and the Diocese through Upon This Rock. This bulletin contains an insert highlighting the reimbursements our parish has received so far thanks to the generosity of participating parishioners. The funds have been used for special maintenance projects needed around the parish campus.

Parish Lenten Penance Service will be held on Sunday, April 7th, at 3-4 pm during the Hour of Mercy at church, with several priests confessors.

Please mark your calendars. Lent leads us to Easter and the Divine Mercy Sunday. This year our  parish will host a parish mini-Easter Retreat on Sunday and Monday, May 5-6th, with the theme of The Divine Mercy and Blessed Michael Sopocko. Two Sisters of Merciful Jesus (ZSMJ) will lead us in prayer, conference talks, and some devotions.  They recently started a new ministry in the US in Pittsburg, PA, and they are members the same original congregation started by Blessed Sopocko in Poland to fulfill the desire  expressed by Jesus to St. Faustina, as she described in her Diary.

     Have a Blessed Lent.

     Fr. Matt
