Pastor’s Note January 20, 2019

Our parish Youth Ministry is proud to send a few young people to attend the Annual Diocesan Youth Convention in Buffalo, where they will meet, pray, and grow in faith  together with hundreds of other young people from all over the diocese March 1st – 3rd.  In turn, after coming back to the parish, they will strengthen our youth ministry and parish life.  There is a $175 cost per person to attend for the full weekend and to make it affordable our parish will subsidize about half of it for the four or five teens who will likely go.  Anyone wishing to help support it financially at any level, please contact me or Ms. Prefontaine.

Thanks to the evangelization spirit and efforts of one of our parishioners, Jennie Silverman, and the unanimous recommendation by the Parish Council, we will be offering a group book study titled “Queen of Heaven – Mary’s    Battle for You”.  It will be held on eight consecutive    Thursday evenings, 7:00 – 8:30 pm, February 21 – April 11, in the Parish Center.  The format will be similar to the “Consoling the Heart of Jesus” study we did over a year ago. More information and registration details are on page 4.

Our parish is blessed to have a strong devotion to the Divine Mercy.  Blessed Father Michael Sopocko was St. Faustina’s confessor and the first ardent promoter of the message revealed to St. Faustina by Jesus himself.  All are invited to a Holy Hour with a Chaplet, a talk on Bl. Sopocko on his feast day on Friday, February 15, at  7 – 8 pm at our church.  Individual veneration of his First Class Relic will follow the Benediction.   Confessions will be celebrated from 6:15 – 6:45 pm.
