Pastor’s Note September 30, 2018

Our Faith Formation in a format of Youth Ministry program continues to grow in      numbers of students, slowly but surely.  High School, grades 9-11, meets weekly on Sunday evenings, 6-8 pm.  The middle school, grades 5-8, meets weekly on Tuesday evenings, 6-8 pm.  Grades K-4 meet bi-weekly in a format of Vacation Bible School.  We invite volunteers to bring hot food as we feed students on Sunday and Tuesday evenings. We could also use volunteer gym monitors on those evenings.  Please contact Carolyn Prefontaine for details at 949-8188.

Following the Franciscan tradition we will be blessing animals on the feast day of St.Francis of Assisi this Thursday at 6:00 pm in the Garden of Life near the entrance to the Father Cotter Hall.

Both Men’s and Women’s Breakfast Prayer Groups, meeting monthly at our parish, invite  everyone to come together for an evening of Spiritual reflection, hopeful story sharing by laity, and prayer, that will bring hope and help to get through this difficult time as the clergy sexual abuse scandal wounds deeply the members of the Catholic Church.  It will be held this Friday, Oct. 5, at 7:00 pm at our church, preceded by Confessions from 6:00 pm.

All men are welcome to the next Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study next Saturday        October 6. The topic is “The 7 Stages of Grief”.   Mass at 8:00 AM, followed by a full breakfast and  presentation in the Father Cotter Hall.
