THE JOURNEY TO CATHOLICISM

“WITHOUT THE EUCHARIST, EVERY EFFORT OF THE CHURCH IS VAIN”

These are the words of Pope Francis taken from a homily given during Mass in the small town of Molfetta, Italy on April 20th of this year.

“The Eucharist is not a beautiful rite, but it is the most intimate, the most concrete, the most surprising communion that one can imagine with God; a communion of love so real that it takes on the form of eating.”

In his homily, Francis said people who receive the Eucharist “cease to live for themselves, for their own success, to have something or to become someone, but they live for Jesus, as Jesus, which is for others.”

After reflecting on these words, how can we not be on fire to share this gift with others?

Next week…..How Francis emphasized the importance of the Word of God
