News, Pastor's Note

Pastor’s E-Note April 15, 2018

Thank you to all who worked very hard to make DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY a great show of our love and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ. Close to 200 people from the parish and outside came to the Sunday afternoon special liturgies, including confessions, Chaplet, Mass, Veneration of the relics of the Saints of Mercy, and the very well attended reception. Jesus, I trust in You.

The CATHOLIC CHARITIES Drive continues this season. If you have already contributed to Catholic Charities this year, thank you. If not yet, I encourage you to do so soon. Please add “0507 Bl. Sacr. Tonawanda” on your check to assure our parish gets the credit. This year, the Catholic Charities Drive is back to its regular schedule and it is NOT connected with Upon This Rock drive. Thank you for your generous support to help us reach the parish goal.

Close to 120 families have already signed up for the PHOTO DIRECTORY. There are still many openings left. More information is on page 5.

Please pray for our parish high school candidates, who will be receiving the Sacrament of CONFIRMATION on Sunday, April 22, at a special 4:00 pm Mass at St. John the Baptist Church in Kenmore. All our parishioners are welcome to attend that Mass.

There will be a few designated people taking Mass attendance around offertory time at all 4 Masses on Sundays of April 15th, 22nd, and 29th. It is done at all parishes in the diocese to assist in planning of better liturgies and allocation of parish resources.

A Bake Sale will be held this weekend after Masses at Fr. Cotter Hall at our parish. It sponsored by the Society of Our Lady of Divine Mercy to raise funds for the Pilgrimage to the Divine Mercy Shrine in Stockbridge Massachusetts. Some of our parishioners will be participating in this pilgrimage.

After a very busy Lent, Holy and Easter Weeks, I will be taking some time off this week.

Fr. Matt
